Exon and Transcript View
While gene-level expression in many cases is good enough, sometimes you need more detailed information. Like in the instance above for FOXM1 isoform expression. While FOXM1a is a transcriptional repressor, FOXM1b and FOXM1c are transcriptional activators. By differentiating between these isoforms, we can see that FOXM1b and FOXM1c are up-regulated, pan-cancer wide, in tumors comparing to GTEx normal samples.
Get started by going to our Visualization tab and following the wizard to select the TOIL transcript-level data, located in the TCGA Pan-Cancer cohort and then enter your transcript of interest as an identifier (not a gene). This will put you into the Visual spreadsheet, which is our default view. Note that other datasets may have transcript or exon-level data. Please check the Data Sets to find out more.
